Corinne Sneller, Organist
Corinne came to the mountains of North Carolina in 1988 with her children, Daniel and Erin, to be near more of her family. She left the school of Suzuki Piano instruction that she had begun in Connecticut, just seven years prior. Working as a social worker for the first 8 years, she would occasionally teach a piano student, until 1997 she quit social work and resumed a full time career as piano instructor. It is a privilege for her to be able to serve the children and adults of our beautiful mountains, in this capacity. It is her hope and belief, that music adds not only beauty to our world, but understanding and peace with others.
Corinne studied both piano and organ at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota for 2 years, and graduated from Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont with a teaching degree. She has been a church musician since the age of 14, and has happily been the organist and pianist at First Baptist Church for the last 23 years. During the first two years of living in North Carolina she thought she would retire as a church musician, choosing instead to worship from the pews. She soon discovered that she greatly missed participating in worship using music, and for her worshipping meant sharing her talents and serving by providing for others a vehicle to enhance worship.
